These terms govern your use of the 对话 (Duìhuà) app, published by 404AI ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the app and prevails to the extent of any conflict.

The service

对话 is a tool for practising spoken Mandarin through personalised role-play conversations, with transcription, translation, pronunciation feedback, and progress tracking. It is a learning aid; it is not a professional translation, certification, or interpretation service, and its feedback may contain errors.

Free tier and subscription

You may try the app for a limited number of free conversation turns.
Beyond that, full access requires an auto-renewable monthly subscription at the price shown in the app (US$9.99 per month or the local-currency equivalent).
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or via the "manage or cancel subscription" link in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its providers, and do not submit content that is unlawful or infringes others' rights.

Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
